From: Moore, Claire (Senator)Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 9:01 PMSubject: Multiculturalism
I received your e-mail with your concerns about multiculturalism. As it seemed to be addressed to my friend Ann Corcoran, I am not quite sure how it came to me , but as a Queensland Senator, I feel that I should respond. It is a coincidence that I have just listened to a comment from the new British High Commissioner in Australia, where she spoke movingly about the heartfelt response from people from all backgrounds to the horror in England. Her words reflect my feelings, which cannot understand the hate and anger in your e-mail.I cannot see any link to my understanding, and long term support of real multiculturalism and the attacks in England. I do not accept that Australians share your views of immigration and your rejection of multiculturalism…naturally all people do not think the same way, and no one has the absolute guarantee of truth. You accuse politicians of being greedy, all politicians and I cannot see how that is linked to your arguments about terrorism and the UN. I am a politician,,,,I am not a greedy person,I strongly support the role of the UN, while I admit that it is not perfect and that there needs to be ongoing reform, as in most organisations.I support peace, respect for human rights, and an Australia that welcomes people from all backgrounds to come to join us, become Australian citizens, while maintaining respect and nurturing their own cultures. This is the spirit of our Citizenship process which I proudly share at citizenship ceremonies every month in different councils in Queensland….the oath states our loyalty to Australia.
The bombings have reinforced that there is hate and violence in the world, but this is not limited to any one race or group…..Claire
Senator Claire Moore,My Email was addressed to those "Greedy politicians" which refers to those who have embraced multiracial immigration to further their electoral support regardless of the dangers inherent in a policy which you must surely know allows potential terrorists into our country and indeed has already has done so as admitted by officialdom. A further example of greed was Costello's statement recently on TV when he said "The more people we bring into this country, the more taxes we collect"Would you consider that people who are aware of this situation and yet continue with this policy are committing treason particularly when they negate the efforts of myself and others who gave their lives to keep this a free and trouble free society. You madam by your own admission are betraying those who lost their lives for this country, many were my friends who died in agony. You should be ashamed of yourself when in the face of these sacrifices as well as atrocities committed against our women on a racial basis and terrorist cells operating in our country you have the gall to admit you support the continuance of a policy which gives every indication of provoking a terrorist attack by locally ensconced aliens as well as breaking down the ethnic identity of a race which produced the likes of our ANZACS as well as other achievements.Your naïve mentality is indicated by your statement “I do not accept that Australians share your views of immigration and your rejection of multiculturalism” Madam before you make such idiotic statements you should do some homework for all public opinion polls have rejected the policy of multi racial immigration. Also when the news media gave the public the false impression that Pauline Hanson was a ‘racist’ this resulted in a poll actually giving her the highest rating ever and for as far as I know her One Nation party outstripped by a fantastic margin the result obtained by any political, party on its first attempt at politics, so much so that all the political enemies frantically combined to rig the following federal elections which enabled a party with a record voted to be defeated by other parties who gained only a fraction of the vote.
There is little doubt now that you and others with your views have brought about a situation where a devastating bombing atrocity will be committed here by people you and your fellow travellers have allowed into this country.
Senator Claire Moore I suggest you accept the will of the majority which is an obligation required of you. Surely it is the duty of all of us to pass this planet on to our descendants in at least as good a condition as we found it.
If you prefer to live amongst people who propagate terrorism then as it is still a free country you have the opportunity to migrate and live amongst them
