The Flag - WE ARE NOT ALONE

Common sense at last in Britain and amazingly from a labour man. Takes me back to the days when the Australian Labor party was a party which truly represented the Australian people and in fact initiated the White Australia policy.

Alfred Deakin, our second Prime Minister stated " the unity of Australia is nothing if it does not imply a united race" and by a united race he meant  "A people possessing the same general cast of character, tone of thought, the same constitutional training and traditions." Now there was real Australian but he was not a Labor politician.

 FLAG NEWS FROM BRITAIN

NEW BRITISH PRIME MINISTER STANDS UP FOR UNION JACK

Gordon Brown, the new British Prime Minister, has come out strongly in support of more flying of the Union Jack.

In an example of political correctness gone mad, civil service offices were only permitted to fly the national flag on eighteen designated days per year. It was done in the interests of multiculturalism so that people of non-Christian background would not be offended by the crosses on the flag. The same thinking is behind such schemes as downgrading the importance of Christmas by referring to "winter holidays" instead and moves to replace St George as England's patron saint.

Mr. Brown, a proud Scot, has told the civil service that they can fly the flag on any day and will repeal the "ridiculous" regulation. Isn't it good to see some common sense?
